Born in Los Angeles, California. Apprenticed to Hans Weisshaar, renowned violin maker and dealer of rare and contemporary violins, violas, cellos, bows in Hollywood from 1948 to 1954 (6 years). From 1954 to 1956 worked for the firm of Music Center, Arthur Kates, Hollywood. In charge of sales of stringed instruments (2 years). 1956 to 1958 U.S. Army and held a part time position in sales of stringed instruments for Colonial Music, Hagerstown, Maryland (2 years).
1958 rejoined the firm of Hans Weisshaar and appointed general manager with sales. Responsibilities from two outlets; main office in Hollywood and branch office in San Francisco, California (4 years).
1962 purchased the San Francisco branch office of Hans Weisshaar and renamed it: CREMONA VIOLIN DEALERS & MAKERS, SAN FRANCISCO, in business for more than forty five (45) years with emphasis in the acquisition and sale of rare and contemporary stringed instruments of the violin family. Also maintain a specialized professional well trained repair department. Have trained a number of apprentices who have become well known in their respective fields of expertise.
